About
Students’ engagement is related to the attention and the efforts which students invest in the learning process. This module focuses on the techniques to involve students in a classroom where students who perform low can be involved in a way that their learning level increases. The suggested strategy can be inculcated in different classrooms to not only enhance students’ participation but also include fun in a classroom. This will help students in learning the concept and also making them aware of their learning level to know how correct they are and what should be their area of focus in the upcoming future.

Teachers are always worried that the students don't study at home and also it is difficult to provide multiple experiences to the students in one class. The module introduces a strategy where the students can be taught, given information and engaged in activities in the classroom itself. The Switch the Stations method helps to design a lesson in a way that the teacher is able to explain the necessary information to students along with providing an experience of hands-on activities as well as discussions in a single class. He/She is able to have a keen observation of students assisting them with different tasks and also able to assess their learning in the same classroom by observing their performance in different activities.

The aim of the module is to make teachers more adaptable and capable of using demonstrative activities to support the teaching and learning in the class. The module talks about the difficulty a teacher faces when students have misconceptions and doubts about the topic. Moreover, the strategy mentioned in the module provides a method, an insight; helping teachers to sequence their class in order to optimize the students learning and understanding of topics in mensuration through a suitable strategy. The formation of strategy and progression of strategy starts from identifying students pre-understanding or misconception about the topic like the confusion between units of measurement, application of the formula, etc. and hence, relating, resolving the problem through meaningful interventions and finally assessing students’ comprehension at the end of the session through engaging means.

About the Module
This module talks about the strategies that can be used by teachers in their classrooms. It caters to the needs of students who have learning difficulties in learning Mathematics. The module emphasize the usage of mathematical manipulatives to meet the need of the students when teaching a particular topic, at the Upper Primary level. This module will focus on steps and methods which provide the teacher a mechanism to apply and assist their teaching in the classroom and means of evaluating the understanding of the students. To do so, the module suggests the strategy SIMPLE_SHAPE which focuses on the framework of utilizing and structuring the class in order to meet the needs of the students who have a certain amount of learning difficulty when concerned with Mathematics.
