Our National Science Curriculum plays an important role in the young minds on developing scientific capabilities and Scientific Knowledge in every student. In this changing world Information and Communication Technology plays a major role in day to day life of each person. It occupies space in Business and Governance, the place of ICT in Teaching Science Education is becoming more & more important and this importance will continue to grow and develop in the 21st century.

Our past education system is Teachers Centred Learning setting. But the use of ICT in education lends itself to more Students Centred Learning setting. Thus the transformation of teachers centered to students centered will result in an increase in learning for students and make opportunity for learners to develop their creativity and skills.
In this technology world, the education management and teaching-learning process should shape the need for individual fulfillment and sustainable development of knowledge. This can be achieved by Information and Communication Technology.

ICT (INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY)

ICT is an umbrella term that includes any communication device or application, encompassing: radio, television, cellular phones, computer and network hardware and software, satellite systems and so on, as well as the various services and applications associated with them, such as videoconferencing and distance learning.
ICT is now a mature part of the curriculum,,  ICT can be used for Teaching (Pedagogical issues) Learning (Student Achievement and Effectiveness) process in science education among the students in middle and high school level.

The Implication of ICT in Science

Information Communication Technology plays a major role in human activities in everyday living in order to cope and adapt to the demand of the environment. If the vision of science education is to bring socio-economic development, the role of ICT in science education cannot be overemphasized.  In the world over, it is generally agreed that development could only be meaningful if and when it is science and technology-driven. With the actualization of the vision and prospects of ICT has the following implication on science education. - Adequate funding: The success of ICT in science education program largely depends on funding. This can be achieved when the funding of the program is properly articulated and handled especially as it is regarded to science education. - Provision of Instructional Materials: Provision of Instructional Materials are materials, facilities, equipment that the teacher uses to illustrate explain and emphasizes the lesson for better comprehensive by the students

The teaching of science to the students is not just to explain the facts, whereas to understand, to apply and to theorize the environment they are exposed. In this modern period, teacher has to design the methodology based on ICT Education and make the students to visualize the theories and principal. ICT in science have yield a positive result and increase the students’ interest and involvement in teaching learning process. Teaching of science using ICT will  give the best performance and scientific knowledge among the students and also observation skill has been increased among the students.
