Technology & Innovation Grateful for Technology

We are privileged to be living in a time where science and technology have made our lives easier. During these testing times of Pandemic, technology came to our rescue and we could continue our education, work from home and shop online. Our survival became easier, and everyone has realized that technology will play an important role in our lives in the future too. Besides using technology for professional purpose by educators, corporates and even businessmen, the trend of using technology by a common man in his day to day life as well, has done a smooth take-off and this trend does not seem to be slowing down in near future.

However, the overuse of technology may also have some negative yet significant impacts. There might be psychological and physical issues, such as eye strain, difficulty focusing on important tasks, low memory and attention span, change in the sleep cycle, or even depression. Thus technology is a two-edged sword that we have to use cautiously.

And when I let loose my imagination, I also feel Darwin’s theory of ‘Evolution by Natural Selection’ taking place. In a few generations from now, human beings may have long thumbs and eyeballs of different shape sizes, and colors. Thinking of another scenario, may-be we may not use somebody's parts at all and they might disappear over the years. Maybe like Saadhus and Rishi-Munis of the Vedic age, we are also able to pass the messages with our thoughts and visions, and the devices that we are creating in this era may become obsolete in the future.

We do not know, what the future has in store for us and how technology will shape our lives.

I consider myself fortunate to be living in this age of future History
