Students should know how they are expected to behave in school. Encouragement is one of the main factors that make students more focused. It creates a supportive environment during student's education. Ask for students’ input and facilitate them to consider their ideas or concerns. If children are asked to rate their understanding regularly or to claim that their opinion has importance, they feel more endowed within the classroom setting as well as in their overall learning. Therefore, always support your student on a regular basis that gives them more motivation to work. It is the best way to strengthen student's skills and development.
Celebrate your Students’ Success
It takes a lot of hard work, courage, and commitment to finding the goals and objectives of the task or to get the best result during the examinations. It gives the person immense happiness and relaxation after completing the task, project, or assignment. Therefore, it is extremely important for us an educator to celebrate our student's success and achievement. This will work as a motivational and encouragement factor in students’ life.
Accept your Students’ for who they are
Not all children were born with the same skills and abilities or raised in the same environment. Not all students learn at the same pace, no student is dumb, and no question is stupid. Students' understanding of the world can differ from one another, so teachers should be responsive and patient to those who ask questions, or do anything that seems less than intelligent, and help them do to solve their problems.
Avoid any Negative Reinforcement
Negative reinforcement includes punishing undesirable behaviors instead of promoting desirable behaviors. Negative reinforcement, used on its own, tends to create frustration and mistrust between the student and the teacher and decreases student self-esteem. Replace positive reinforcement with negative reinforcement wherever possible.
Build Rapport Formation and Get to know your Students’
Your students would be more likely to behave in a positive way if they know as their teacher cares for them as individuals. To establish relationships with your students, connect with them in informal settings such as before and after class, and use instructional methods that allow them to express their personal views and experiences within the classroom.
Use Humor
Humor is important for building a positive atmosphere in the classroom. Humor makes students feel relaxed and at ease in the classroom. Incorporate humor into the lesson plans and use it on a regular basis. It also helps in fostering the student-teacher relationship.
