Classroom Learning My Recommendation: Lecture or Activity?

As a 21st century teacher, my recommendation always goes towards activity class. I want to clear the concept of lecture class and activity class.

Let's discuss a lecture class:

The flow of education is changed according to the 21st century. There are various theories of education and its implementation in the class. Our traditional method – ‘delivering lecture ’is one of the most popular methods used in the classes. In this method, the speaker speaks, (that is teacher talks with the student) and they listen carefully,  make their own notes, etc.

Comprehension of the student (that is understanding of a taught subject) depends upon the concentration power of students. The minimum span of concentration of every student is 15 to 20 minutes, so one can imagine what happens in a lecture class. Students get very few opportunities to discuss their doubts with teachers, and they are strictly prohibited to talk with other students. That means a ban on a conversation. Students get very little opportunity to correct their misunderstanding, misconceptions. Their response is not granted in a lecture class.
Though lecture class is very helpful to cover the vast syllabus in a given time span, it's not useful for student development.

Now, let's discuss activity class:

It is a student-centered approach. All the opportunities are given to the student in the activity class. They are free to discuss with other students, teacher plan activity in advance, they make proper arrangements and groups in the class. They give proper time to complete the task. Students are free to ask their problems and doubts to the teachers.

The teacher plays the role of a guide by side. Students create their own solution to a given activity. It is also helpful in personality development because they work in a group, they listen to others, they give their own opinion, they think critically and they consider other student's approaches. Students are active all the time. Learning through this method is time-consuming, but it is helpful in developing students' life.

Hence, my recommendation is always to go with activity class. I implement various activities in my class and the results are very fruitful. My class is alive with activity all the time.
