Education is a milestone of women empowerment because it enables to respond to challenges, to confront their traditional role and change their life.

"Countries and nations which do not respect women have never become great nor will ever be in future".

Empowerment is an active, multidimensional process that should enable women to realize their full identity and powers in all spheres of life.  Self-confidence and understanding of the importance of human values and rights conducive for a more dignified and satisfactory way of life.

Education is one of the ways to spread the message of women's empowerment. However rich and humongous our country is no goals or dreams of our citizens will be achieved without effective education. Eduction not only educates a person but also helps her realize that she is a vital part of society. Occupational achievement, self-awareness, and satisfaction are among the many things that will be ensured by the effective use of education. Education not only educates a woman but enables her to make decisions and accept responsibilities in her home and outer world. Education helps a woman to understand her rights to equal treatment like a man in the society of this nation.

Objectives of women empowerment:-

  • Women empowerment helps in improving the standard of life of women in rural as well as metro areas.
  • It also helps in reducing domestic violence and crimes against women.
  • Women empowerment helps in reducing gender inequality in society.
  • The empowerment of women has also brought a lot of economic and social gains to India.
  • It is important for solving societal issues like poverty, unemployment, and birth control in India.
  • It helps in preventing the cruel crime of female foeticide.
  • The government should focus, especially in rural areas, on empowering women as the majority of India's population resides in the village.

"To awaken the people, it is the women who must be awakened. Once she is on the move, the family moves, the villages moves, the nation moves".

Principles of women empowerment:

  1.  Leadership promotes gender equality.

  2. Equal opportunity, inclusion, and nondiscrimination.

  3. Health, safety, and freedom from violence.

  4. Education and training.

  5. Community leadership and engagement.

  6. Enterprise development, supply chain, and marketing practices.

Empowering women in different aspects :

  • Decision making
  • Economic empowerment of women
  • Industry
  • Health
  • Economy
  • Mainstreaming a gender
  • Women and agriculture
  • Social skills
  • Nutrition

It is rightly said that educate women in the family and whole family will be educated. In consideration of this, rural areas where the literacy rate is minimal among women are actively targeted to improve the situation of women through education. Many parents to date are of the view, that educating son is an investment because they still think that sons will take care of them when they will be old. So, if a rural family has to choose between educating a son or a daughter, typically the son will be chosen. Negative parental attitudes towards educating daughters can also be a barrier to a girl's education.

Conclusion:-

I can say that the number of women in the corporate world has been steadily increasing. Now in the 21st century when women are coming out in each field, empowering them is truly essential. By 2025 India is poised to be a superpower developed country and hence we cannot ignore the importance of women's education in reference to women empowerment.
