India as a country is filled with teachers putting all their efforts and passion in shaping the lives of their students. Gurushala got the chance of interacting with one such teacher based out of Odisha. Ranuroshan Dash teaches students of classes 1st to 8th and considers himself proficient in teaching all subjects to his students.

His unique way of teaching stems from his respect and passion towards the teaching profession. He believes in teaching and learning with joy. His motto is, “If teaching is joyful, then automatically learning will be joyful.” Let’s get to know Dash more and his experiences of teaching.

What is your most preferred way of teaching?
I like to teach through interactive study materials such as videos, images, games to inculcate the habit of understanding concepts practically as well as theoretically. I also provide my students with opportunities for group activities and practising on a regular basis.

What is your best memory as a teacher?
I try my best to give respect to each child I have met during my life. One day, a young child corrected me for my mistake on the blackboard; this was one of my best memories and it filled me with pride. From that day, I ensure to utilise every opportunity I get to learn from my students as each child is very strong and active in learning.

How were you introduced to Gurushala?
I was introduced to Gurushala by a resource person from Chhattisgarh. Since then, I have been actively connected to Gurushala by participating in their activities, competitions, live events, content developing workshops, quizzes and much more. My favourite section of Gurushala website is the Webinar section as it offers ideas and strategies about pedagogies and other tactics as well. These webinars have helped in improving both- my personal and professional life.

How has Gurushala helped you in your journey as a teacher?
Gurushala acts as an educational catalyst for all round development of a teacher. Best educational practices coupled with modern technology are the tools of Gurushala. I have declared that it is the best platform for knowledge and pedagogical support full of interesting workshops.

Being a witness to the remarkable journey of Dash as a teacher has opened up opportunities for learning on so many levels. Dash strives to give continuous moral support to his students and he pledges to bring significant societal change through his works and words.
